Design for Dyselxia

Design for special needs

MIT's Institute of Design - 2010.

The project was an attempt to devise a playful learning material which aids play-based learning practices. This game revolves around the concept of teaching diagraphs and blends in English with the help of Hindi and its Phonetical structure. This project was designed to employ multiple senses through the use of audio, visual and tactile clues which help children learn simple spellings with their correct pronunciations in a fun & playful environment.

This play-basd learning material was designed to address the following issues children (especially Dyslexic children) face while learning English:

• Difficulty in reading.

• Understanding letters & their meanings.

• Remembering letters & associating them with their respective forms.

• Following multiple instructions.

• Working on hand & eye coordination.
