13 service design workshops were undertaken at the Museum of Childhood and the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh, where children designed and constructed some amazing Automata toys, by employing 21st-century literacies of exploration, tinkering, and prototyping. The automata were used as a design idiom to comprehend an understanding of geometry and various shapes.
